Climatexplorer was conceived with a bold vision: to tackle climate change by empowering communities to adapt and thrive in a changing environment. The journey began in USA and Colombia, where a group of passionate ex hi level big4 executives, environmentalists, scientists, and social innovators came together with a shared mission to reduce poverty, promote scientific collaboration, generate human development, and ensure food sustainability through climate change adaptation.

 

Inception and Early Development

In early 2014, the founding team recognized the urgent need for localized climate adaptation solutions. They observed that while global initiatives were essential, the real impact of climate change was felt at the community level. Thus, they decided to create an organization that would focus on identifying, replicating, and scaling effective local adaptation strategies.

 

Official Launch

Climatexplorer was officially launched in July 2014. The organization set out with clear objectives:

1. Reduce Poverty: By supporting communities in developing sustainable agricultural practices, improving water management, and enhancing resilience to climate impacts.

2. Promote Scientific Collaboration: By fostering partnerships between local and international researchers, NGOs, and policymakers to share knowledge and best practices.

4. Ensure Food Sustainability: By promoting innovative farming techniques and sustainable land use to secure food supplies despite changing climate conditions.

1. The Climatexplorer initiative: Climatexplorer initiated a comprehensive search program across the world to find communities that were successfully implementing climate adaptation solutions. This program aimed to document and analyze these practices, providing a blueprint that could be replicated in other regions.

SEC Climate Rules Compliance: In line with the 2nd wave of SEC climate rules, Climatexplorer prioritized climate change physical risk analysis as a key component of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) regulatory reporting. This ensured transparency and accountability in the organization’s efforts to address climate risks.
